Now In: Lost Battalion Games : Features : Old Salt's Journal

By Jay Wissmann

You are probably asking yourself, "Self, what is the Old Salt’s Journal"? I asked the same question when informed that our master programmers/web masters/bigger than me staff had decided to open this new wing of our expansive website. Our crack Lost Battalion Games team includes two former gobs and current refugees from Uncle Sam’s Navy, Jeff Billings and Phil Gardocki. With such an anchor-clanker past, it is understandable that Lost Battalion has published many naval games (with more darkening the horizon, even as I speak) and the company has generated a number of historical background articles about those games. What may be less clear is how an old tank driver like me ended up with the editor's chores on this distinctly nautical section of the site. The grubby truth is that the writing task fell to me when I realized that, to programmers like Jeff and Phil, English is practically a second language to their more common "computerize".

Be that as it may, we have had these historical articles linked directly to their respective games for ever so long now and, should you accidently stub your toe on one of our game blurbs elsewhere on the website and follow its links, you will find that is still the case. So, in the final analysis, the Old Salt’s Journal is an alternate and convenient way to reach these articles so you, Heaven forbid, don’t have to look at our game advertisements and possibly buy something. The article links are below, so here you are – enjoy yourself!
