Combat Soldiers™ Card Game FAQ
By S. Craig Taylor, Jr.
Q:I seized an unoccupied Objective card with a Recon card at the end of an opponent’s Turn. Then, immediately, another player used another Recon card to seize it from me. Could he do this? Was this still considered to be at the end of an opposing player’s Turn?
A: Yes and yes! Because of this, a surprising number of Recon opportunities are passed up as players cravenly wait for someone else to go first. Will it be a case of "He who hesitates is lost!," or "Act in haste; regret at leisure!"
Q: It seems to me that surrounding an opposing group often helps the other players more than the player who actually does the surrounding.
A: You are correct, sir! It is best to have all your ducks in row when you surround a group so the advantage can be exploited. On the other hand, this is a most excellent and devious game and you may want to surround a group controlled by the player who appears to be in the lead to hurt that player and help another player who appears to be too pathetic and weak to bother your august self.
Q: I really enjoy the game but have trouble gathering together three or more players for a game of COMBAT SOLDIERS.
A: If I were cruel I could suggest that you get out more and make some new friends but, happy days, that is no longer necessary. The revised 2.0 version of the COMBAT SOLDIERS rules, now included in the game and available as a free download at this website contains rules for a two-player version.
