Chapter III: The Russians Strike Back
The picture below shows the situation at the end of the Axis players move.
The Soviet player seems to be in big trouble. The German engineers have managed to blast a hole in the center of his position. The only thing standing between them and the capture of Red October factory is the 112th Rifle Division HQ.
The Soviet player checks for orders, gets two, and uses the first to activate his divisional HQ. This one order allows him to:

Look at the top four cards of his play deck and then replace them in any order he chooses

Assemble Formations from his hand onto the division HQ
Using the Assemble function, he put in play the II/524th Rifle Battalion and the 112th Sappers Battalion. He also attaches at Light Mortar company to the sappers.
112th Sappers Battalion
With the second order, he activates the 112th Sappers, moves them forward to South Central Stalingrad, and attempts to Infiltrate that position. Since he was able to stack the deck in his favor with the previous order. He gets the "4" Chance Check needed to Infiltrate and the "5" Chance Check he needs to perform a Shock attack prior to combat resolution. The 112th Sappers have a Shock Attack value of 5. The combat check is a 6, for a total of 11. The Axis formation has a total defense of 8 and suffers one combat result. The result is: "1 Hit, Hold on 1, 4, 7." The unfortunate Axis player draws a 2, thus having both his engineers withdrawn and the location lost to a timely counter-attack by the Soviet engineers.
